Somayeh Gholami Bardeji was born in Shiraz, Iran on October 10, 1981. She lives in Portugal since 2009. For her education, Somayeh attended the Ph.D. in Mathematics course at the University of Coimbra where she earned a Ph.D.’s degree in Applied Mathematics in 2013. Besides being a scientist, her big passion is the art of Persian Calligraphy. Somayeh was active in the Persian Calligraphy community in Iran, through her membership of the Society of Iranian Calligraphers in 2004. She is working on primary Kufic and got a master’s degree in Naskh and Ketabat from the Society of Iranian Calligraphers in 2006. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, workshops, and talks in Portugal and Iran.
