Persian calligraphy artwork by Somayeh Gholami

Description: This contemporary Persian calligraphy painting explores the relationship between letterforms, geometry, and space. Words and letters are arranged and transformed into a circular structure at the centre of the canvas.

The circular composition creates a sense of balance, continuity, and movement, while the arrangement of the Persian letterforms allows writing to become a visual and abstract element. Rather than following a conventional linear format, the words interact with one another to form a unified geometric composition.

The work reflects my contemporary approach to Persian calligraphy, where language is transformed into visual structure through the arrangement, repetition, and spatial relationships of letters and words.
