Description: Her Hair and My Life is a contemporary Kufic calligraphy painting in which Persian letterforms are transformed into an expressive visual composition. Rather than functioning only as readable text, the Kufic forms become lines, shapes, rhythm, and movement across the surface.
The work explores the relationship between writing and personal experience, using the structure and geometry of Kufic calligraphy to create a visual language that is both connected to traditional calligraphic heritage and open to contemporary interpretation.
The title, Her Hair and My Life, introduces a personal and poetic relationship between two elements. Hair can suggest movement, intimacy, memory, and identity, while life carries its own rhythm, direction, and complexity. Through the transformation of letters into visual forms, these ideas become intertwined rather than literally represented.
The work reflects my approach to contemporary Kufic calligraphy, in which the Arabic and Persian alphabet becomes a material for abstraction and visual expression. The viewer is invited to encounter the work through its rhythm, structure, and emotional atmosphere, even without reading the underlying letters.
