Description: Cover the Flows is a large-scale contemporary Kufic calligraphy painting constructed through the repetition of a single word. The word is written repeatedly across the surface in different positions and orientations, gradually forming a dense visual field that resembles snow covering a landscape.
The repeated Kufic forms move beyond their function as written language and become geometric elements. Like individual snowflakes accumulating and transforming the appearance of a space, the letters build a continuous composition in which the boundaries between individual forms become increasingly difficult to distinguish.
The work explores repetition, accumulation, movement, and transformation. A single word, repeated many times, becomes an expansive abstract structure, demonstrating how the visual qualities of Arabic and Persian letterforms can be used to construct space and image.
The title, Cover the Flows, suggests the possibility of covering or interrupting the continuous movement of things. The accumulation of letters creates a moment of stillness, as if a flowing space has been covered by a new layer.
At 150 × 150 cm, the large scale allows the repeated Kufic forms to surround the viewer as an immersive visual field.
