As a person with deep roots in the traditions of Persian calligraphy and a lifetime of immersion in its beauty, I’ve embarked on a journey to bridge the past and the present, tradition and innovation. Born and raised in Iran, where I grew up surrounded by the elegance of Persian script, I later found myself in Portugal, a place where the alphabet I had known since childhood was unfamiliar to most. This cultural shift inspired me to reimagine my artistic expression.
In my new collection, I use Persian letters and words not as tools for direct communication, but as visual elements that construct a world of imagination. Each piece transforms the letters into landscapes, scenes, and emotions—visual interpretations of ideas, places, and memories.
This collection is not about reading or deciphering. It invites the viewer to experience the calligraphy as form, movement, and texture. The familiar curves and flow of Persian letters are transformed into something universal, a visual language that transcends its origins while paying homage to its roots.
By walking through these imagined places, I hope viewers reconnect with their own emotions and dreams and find moments of peace, joy, and nostalgia.
